About Me:
My Journey Through the Lens: Anthony Harrison
For me, photography is more than just an image; it's a continuation of a family story. My fascination with the camera began long before I picked up my first one at the age of eleven, fuelled by a lineage of photographers stretching back to the mid-1800s, including my mother, a devoted amateur. This deep-seated heritage instilled in me an early appreciation for light, composition, and the power of a captured moment.
While photography remained a cherished hobby for many years, my professional path led me into the dynamic world of retail management, where I honed skills in leadership, precision, and client relations, ultimately managing a superstore with a £9 million annual turnover. The seismic shift of COVID-19, however, provided an unexpected opportunity for reflection and reinvention. Taking voluntary redundancy, I chose to return to formal education, a decision that culminated in me proudly achieving my BA Honours degree in Photography in 2023.
This unique journey, from a rich photographic heritage to high-level commercial management and then dedicated academic study, informs my approach to every commission. I collaborate with a diverse array of clients, from major international entities like SIG Europe (with their work for Apple and AMEX) to vibrant local enterprises. Yet, my passion truly converges in the realms of performing arts photography and fine art photography. Here, I am driven by the challenge and joy of capturing not just a pose or a scene, but the genuine essence, the fleeting emotion, and the profound narrative embedded within each subject.
